We invite you to a plein-air oil painting workshop in Zurich, guided by professional artist and experienced teacher Andrew Gray. This workshop will focus on capturing the beauty of reflections and riverbanks in natural surroundings.
You will be guided step by step through the process of plein-air oil painting, including:
• Underdrawing strong compositional elements
• Simplifying the scene through value blocking
• Practicing loose, gestural brushwork
• Balancing medium and paint
• Focusing on edges, depth, and water reflection physics
• Understanding aerial and linear perspective
This workshop is perfect for all levels – from beginners to experienced artists – and each participant will leave with a completed artwork.
In case of bad weather, the workshop will be moved indoors and a reference photo will be provided.
Online registration is required due to limited spaces.

1. Oil paints (preferably artist quality):
• Titanium White
• Cadmium Yellow
• Cadmium Red
• Ultramarine Blue
• Cobalt Blue
• Burnt Sienna
• Burnt Umber
3. Panel approx. 30x40 cm (canvas board, plywood, or Dibond)
4. Metal palette knife
5. Field easel & paint palette
6. 2 small containers for linseed oil & turpentine
